Tales from the Moon & Other Worlds

Space aliens ate my story It is storytelling, but not as you know it!

Accompanying the Museum of Gloucester's Moon exhibition in 2019, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, Chloë took our imaginations right inside a lunar excursion module, then off into folktale and fantasy to meet marsh monsters, green children and a medieval UFO.

Chloë said:

“I was eight days short of my ninth birthday when the Apollo 11 LEM touched down on the moon. My parents got me out of bed to watch it on our very first, black and white television. I was just a kid but I knew this expedition was changing the future for planet Earth. The moon features in wonderful traditional stories around the world, and I think some fairy characters seem strangely like what we now think of as space aliens. This is when performance storytelling can boldly go where it’s never gone before!"
